Whole Oat – Mushroom Grain Spawn comes in a gusseted 3T 0.2 micron autoclave spawn bag with filter patch. Planet Spore’s whole oat grain spawn is composed of 100% natural premium whole oat which are commonly regarded as one of the best grain spawn for for mushroom cultivation. Our grain spawn is free of chemicals or any additives and is recommended for use in conjunction with our pre – pasteurized mushroom fruiting bulk substrate.

Once the grain spawn is fully colonized, we recommend mixing it with our mushroom fruiting bulk substrate. We recommend using a three bulk substrate to one grain spawn ratio for optimal yields. You may also perform what is called a grain transfer. A grain transfer is taking your colonized grain spawn and transferring it to more sterilized grain to promote further propagation of mushroom mycelium growth. Generally you can transfer one bag of fully colonized grain spawn to five to ten bags of sterilized grain (depending on the weight of the initial bag).
