History of the PES Hawaiian Psychedelic Mushroom

Contrary to popular belief, the PES Hawaiian strain is not native to Hawaii. As a matter of fact, there are no known psilocybe cubensis that have grown or naturally do grow in Hawaii. 

The PES Hawaiian (also known as PESH) was first developed by the company known as Pacific Exotica Spora, the same company that also developed the PES Amazonian strain we know today. 

It is speculated that a sample of a strain was originally collected in Florida that then made it’s way to Pacific Exotica Spora headquarters which was located in Hawaii. In the hands of Pacific Exotica Spora, the sample was cultivated and genetics were isolated until one day they came across a gene that had beautiful visual characteristics. This gene was further cultivated and subsequently named after the location it was cultivated in, Hawaii. 

Pacific Exotica Spora eventually disappeared after many years of producing strains that are still famous today. Before their disappearance, they were one of the most reputable spore vendors around, producing some of the most well-known psilocybe cubensis strains that were famous for their potency. They were one of the first vendors to offer spores in High Times magazine. 

Growing PES Hawaiian Magic Mushrooms

PES Hawaiian has been prized by many cultivators for its fast colonization along with large yields. Spores from the PES Hawaiian strain are incredibly resistant to contamination, making them fabulous choice for beginner cultivators. 

The spores of the strain are able to germinate quickly on a variety of mushroom spawn that is then able to dynamically colonize on a wide variety of substrates. Colonization time can range from seven to fourteen days depending on the quantity of substrate and the optimal temperature during colonization for the PES Hawaiian strain is between 28-30 °C. 

Being a sub-tropical strain, during the fruiting stage PES Hawaiian will prosper in temperatures ranging between 22-25 °C. The strain will also need a relative humidity (RH) level greater than 90%. Temperatures above 25 °C could welcome contaminants and relative humidity reaching 99% could stunt growth. If all aspects are dialed in during cultivation, the PES Hawaiian strain is capable of having up to four flushes and even at times could reach five.

Appearance of PES Hawaiian Magic Mushroom Strain 

The PES Hawaiian magic mushroom strain could very well be the poster child for all psilocybe cubensis because of its physical characteristics. These beautiful mushrooms closely resemble the famous Golden Teacher, but also boasts their own beautiful proportions between the stalk and cap of the fruit. With fruit sizes ranging from medium to large and very pronounced light colors, the PES Hawaiian mushrooms are quite the aesthetic fungi.

PES Hawaiian mushrooms have a much wider cap than most other psilocybe cubensis strains. Depending on the genetics and growing conditions, the mushrooms will have a range from dome-shaped to plane caps. The color of the caps are almost always very pronounced, making them very visually appealing. The color of the caps can range from a light yellow to a more golden fleshy color. Like other magic mushrooms, PES Hawaiian also has what looks like speckled flakes that dot the caps. What makes this characteristic unique to the PES Hawaiian is that these speckled flakes will remain on the caps with age, unlike other cubensis where the flakes tend to disappear closer to maturity. 

The stems of the PES Hawaiian psychedelic mushroom can range from slender to thick, either or, the stems are dense. Average fruit body heights of the PES Hawaiian strain roughly range between five and seven inches. Mostly white in color, the caps also tend to take on a yellow tinge after reaching maturity. 

Psychedelic Effects of PES Hawaiian Magic Mushrooms 

Like other Pacifica Exotica Spora creations, the PES Hawaiian is one potent magic mushroom. These super strong mushrooms have been reported to completely “melt” users with only one gram! For those looking for an especially intense trip, PES Hawaiian mushrooms should be at the top of the list. 

After ingesting PES Hawaiian, users will begin to experience the “come-up” which generally starts with a slight body high and a minor dose of euphoria.
