Easily Grow Magic Mushrooms with the Myco Essentials Magic Mushroom Grow Kit
Have you ever wanted to try growing magic mushrooms but never followed through because of the overwhelming growing process and expensive equipment needed? Well we have the perfect solution for you, The Planet Spores Mushroom Grow Kit Starter Pack.
Our long running mushroom grow kit starter pack allows anyone to easily grow psilocybin mushrooms from the comfort of their own home. The kit was designed to be easily used and to provide staggering results for both beginner and experienced mushroom enthusiasts. You don’t need fancy pressure cookers, or complex environmental controls to enjoy growing your own healthy flush of mushrooms.
Perhaps the Starter Pack’s best feature is that it includes everything someone would need to successfully grow mushrooms from home. From the selection menus below you have the choice to build out your kit just the way you want it.
From the drop down menu above you may choose two powerful magic mushroom spore syringes. 4L sterilized mushroom grain spawn as well as our 4L in-house optimized mushroom fruiting substrate will be included in the kit as well. The mushrooms can be fruited in the 14A bag(s) provided in the kit, or mushroom fruiting tubs can be added from the drop down options above.
How to Use the Myco Essentials Mushroom Kit
- REMOVE vacuum-sealed transport bags, prior to inoculation.
- Ensure your workspace and yourself is clean before every step and wear gloves when needed.
- Grain spawn comes & substrate pre-sterilized
- Fruit the mushrooms in 14A bag(s) provided or choose to add mushroom fruiting tub(s).
- In total this kit includes 7 lb of medium, 1 tub holds 5 lb, and fruiting bags can hold up to 5 lb. If you want to fruit both spore syringes in tubs, we recommend adding 2 tubs to this kit.
STEP 1 – Grain Spawn Inoculation Using Spore Syringe
Clean your workspace, tools, injection areas, and yourself before beginning inoculation. Allow spore syringes to reach room temperature and shake them well before use. Inject the spore solution directly into the bulk of the sterilized mushroom grain spawn, then cover the hole made with tape, preferably micro pore tape.
STEP 2 – Mushroom Grain Spawn Colonization
Place the newly inoculated grain spawn bags in a warm dark place in order to promote mycelium colonization of the grains for 7 to 28 days. Roughly half way through the colonization process you should notice medium sized balls of mycelium growing, break the balls up by squishing them from outside the bag and disperse them evenly throughout the bag. This will allow for a faster and full colonization. You will know the grain is colonized when it’s mostly covered in a thick web of white mycelium.
STEP 3 – Creating the Perfect Mushroom Fruiting Substrate
Mix the colonized grain spawn and hydrated substrate together to create the final mushroom fruiting medium. You can perform the mixing in the desired fruiting chamber you chose with the kit (14A mushroom fruiting bag or 9L mushroom fruiting tub). Mix the grain and substrate evenly and lightly tamp the surface. After mixing, seal off the mixture for incubation, achieve this by putting the lid on the tub or by sealing the bag with an impulse sealer or household clips.
Now that the mushroom fruiting medium is mixed, allow the white colonized mycelium grain to incubate the substrate for 7 to 10 days. The next step is everyone’s favorite: the fruiting phase. For a more detailed guide to creating fruiting chambers using bags and tubs checkout our fruiting in bags guide and our D.I.Y. mushroom fruiting chamber guide.
STEP 4 – Promoting the Magic Mushrooms to Fruit
In order to induce fruiting in the mushroom spore grow kit, the environmental conditions must be changed.
Three variables to change:
- Increase humidity
- Increase fresh air exchange
- Increase light exposure
Increase humidity by occasionally misting the sides of the fruiting chamber.
Increase fresh air exchange by opening the lid of the tub for 5 minutes a day and or by drilling filter holes filled with poly-fil in the side of the tub (see our fruiting chamber guide for more details on this). To increase fresh air exchange in fruiting bags, slightly open the top of the bag to allow for some air flow.
Increase light exposure by placing the mushroom fruiting chamber near indirect sunlight or run a 50/50 on off light cycle.
STEP 5 – Harvesting Magic Mushrooms From the Spore Kit
After about a week, baby mushrooms should start to appear, these are called mushroom pins. These pins will mature into fully grown mushrooms in 2-5 days and will be ready for harvest when the thin dark viel starts to separate from the cap of the mushroom.
When ready to harvest, gently reach into the fruiting chamber, carefully grab the mushroom stem near the bottom, then twist and pull to remove it from the fruiting substrate.
STEP 6 – Repeat for More Mushroom Flushes
After harvesting all of the mushrooms, clean the interior of the fruiting chamber by wiping it down with isopropyl alcohol. Then put the lid on the tub or slightly close the fruiting bag again and leave the mushroom spore grow kit in fruiting conditions. After another week more mushrooms will begin to form.
Given good fruiting conditions and proper cultivation practices, you may repeat this process 3-4 times until the mycelium runs out of nutrients.
Good kit, this isnt my first time growing. A first timer might find this kit hard to work with tho. A+ for ps
Amazing customer service and super fast shipping I ordered my kit Wednesday morning and it came in on friday!! Can’t wait for the zoomss
